uButler is a 24/7 service that provides digital assistants to international local hires that need to find their way in the Netherlands. Our Relocation Assistants, who work under the alias ‘Sophie’, arrange everything that a newcomer needs when settling in a new country via our special created software. Think about opening a bank account, taking out health insurance or to arrange personal matters, like arranging a holiday or looking for a hobby. Our golden formula of well-trained people, combined with a smart system, ensures that international local hires will find their way in the Netherlands within a few weeks! As the Digital Project Manager you ensure that your team has everything they need to carry out their work as good as possible. It's your responsibility to communicate with both the engineering team, management and the rest of the teams to have a clear idea on what work is on 'the backlog' and what the priority for this work is. You should always have an overview of what the team is working on and be able to give a status update to management and other parts of the business. You should be the person to reach out to with any type of request for new features or bugs. This way the software engineers can find the focus to get the actual work done with the least amount of distractions.

Furthermore, you are responsible for actually running the sprint planning, sprint grooming and retrospectives. You are making sure the correctly prioritised work makes its way into the software engineering sprints. All tasks need to be clearly defined before work commences and you need to make sure any questions or unknowns are discussed with the relative stakeholders. Questions will however always arise so it's also important that you help to answer any questions the software engineers will have while planning sprints or while doing the actual work.

Our tech stack and tools are the following so it would be great if you've worked with some of these before', as it's not at all need, but just to give a feel about the tech side of things:

  • Technical knowledge: React.js, Expo, Typescript, Node.js, GraphQL, Meteor, Docker, AWS, Heroku
  • Non-technical: Agile (Scrum), Jira, Github

What do we ask from you?

  • +3 years of professional work experience in project management
  • Comfortable with working autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong time management skills, quick thinking and ability to meet project deadlines as necessary
  • You have strong communication skills and are able to explain the right technical decisions to technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • You would like to work in an Agile environment and are used to working with Scrum or Kanban
  • You speak fluent English
  • You live in Amsterdam or surrounding area
